OhioOutside.com Trail Series Recap
OhioOutside.com Trail Series attracts well over 300 runners to its 3 race series this fall, spanning October, November and December.
Located entirely inside the Munroe Falls Metro Park, the 5-mile course challenged runners with grass, access roads, trails, roots and steps on the 2 loop course. Post race, the runners were treated to cookies, bread, fruit, hot cider, coffee, Gu Brew and an awards table to pick prizes from. Prizes included: Gu, tech tee’s runner apparel, glasses, gift cards and more. Also, each runner received Gu samples and pint beer glasses in their race bags.
OhioOutside.com is proud to announce they will be making donations to the Haven Of Rest in Akron, Ohio and Sole4Souls. Runners generously donated over 75 pairs of shoes that were no longer needed to benefit Soles4Souls; everything from like-new running shoes to dress shoes were donated. OhioOutside.com will ship these back to the Soles4Souls distribution center, and they will reach those in need. OhioOutside.com will also make a contribution to the Haven of Rest in Akron, Ohio to help those in need enjoy a hot Holiday meal.
Race 1
Nice fall weather brought out a dry course and fast times as race winner Kaleb Keyserling blazed the course in 27:08. The women’s winner posted a 32:03, courtesy of Tracey Meder.
Race 2
Nice fall weather brought out fast times as race winner Kyle Bowman tackled the 5 mile rolling course in 27:28. Kate Fenster was the overall female winner with a time of 31:39 and beat last month's winner Tracey Meder.
Race 3
Temps in the lower 20’s did not stop runner’s today, just slowed them down a tad. With a clear course, just a little frozen, race winner Steven Fenster stayed warm on the course and upset the “youngins” in a time of 29:45, holding off second place by 8 seconds (who was 17 years younger). On the women’s front, Tracy Meder was back as the winner posting a 33:31 time and taking the win by over 30 seconds.
