Polarmax Mock Zip and Pants

Well, this might not be the ideal winter to test old winter clothing. As I type this, it is 47 degrees outside in the middle of January. There have had some cold days, but we are surely guarenteed to get some nastiness from Mother Nature.

First up is the Men's Zip Mock Top from the Polarmax Quattro Fleece line. Though designed to be more of a base layer under a shell, this year it has been put through the ringer as an outer layer.

The Quattro Fleece collection consists of a high-quality fabric in Acclimate Dry performance fleece using a brushed micro-fleece constructed to be soft and cozy while keeping the body warm and dry through the most extreme winter climates.

We had our hands out on the Men’s Zip (and Women’s) Mock top and Pants. Both top and bottom offer a snug fit (as they should as a base layer) and an outdoor style that is not too “techy” or neon. They come in black and white - colors I am not embarrassed to be seen in while not running.

The fleece is warm, wicking and has a great feel. It hugs the body in an athletic fit thanks to it’s 92% Acclimate Dry, 8% Spandex blend. Its acclimating dry technology takes care of moisture wicking, and you’ll be the hit after any activity with “scent prevent” protection. No longer will everyone scramble to leave that buffer chair at the bar after a run, hike or day at the slopes.

One thing to note here: The bottom might not make the best outer layer since the men’s has a fly hole in it, so you might want to put something on top.

Overall, it's a great top and bottom base layer for those extra cold days (like when is was 5 the other morning at 6 a.m.), or as a sign layer over a tech tee on 40 to 50 degree days. The top can also be pulled off on a low-key date night or even at the office. A very versatile top.
