The fifth annual Union Hospital “Run for Home” is a community event to benefit the Tuscarawas Valley Habitat for Humanity and promote a healthy lifestyle. Events include the half-marathon, three-person team relay, one-mile fun run, five-mile walk, and kids' run. The 2011 Run for Home events attracted more than 1,300 participants! All activities are headquartered at beautiful Tuscora Park in New Philadelphia. The half-marathon is part of the Ohio Subway Challenge Series and the Allied Machine and Engineering Tuscarawas Valley Challenge. The half-marathon and team relay is run on a well-marked, certified course staffed by dozens of volunteers and organizations. All participants in the half and relay receive moisture-management shirts. All finishers receive a medal.
