On May 5, 2012, Urban Community School will host its second annual R.U.N. (Race Urban's Neighborhood). The day will feature a 5K run, 1-mile family fun run and a health fair. The event will promote and support the UCS Healthy Lifestyles Program.

UCS is dedicated to the growth of the whole child and works to improve the health of students and families by guiding them to make positive decisions regarding nutrition, fitness and wellness. Proceeds from the event will directly benefit the students of UCS by funding scholarships, as well as the Healthy Lifestyles Program.

The health fair will take place in the gym from 8:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and will feature representatives from fitness, nutrition and health care service providers who will distribute information, answer questions and offer demonstrations.
