Amishland and Lakes is a family friendly 2-day (August 6 & 7) tour through the Amish countryside of northeastern Indiana and the lakes country of southeastern Michigan. It originates on the campus of The Howe School in Howe, Indiana. Meals and camping or low cost dorm rooms are available on campus or participants may elect to stay at local motels or bed and breakfasts. The Saturday tour proceeds south into the Amish countryside over scenic and lightly traveled roads where buggies outnumber cars. Riders have a choice of 23, 36, 50, 64 or 100 miles. On Sunday the tour heads north into the lake country of southwestern Michigan. Here the route winds along quiet gently rolling wooded hills dotted with lakes. Sunday options are 21, 35, 47 or 63 miles.
