The "Tour de Donut" bicycle race is a spoof on the "Tour de France." From the mass start, the route of approximately 30 miles follows lightly traveled rural roads over flat terrain. Riders stop at checkpoint stations (donut stops) and eat donuts. There will be plenty of fruit and other refreshments. Though donut consumption is not mandatory, the rider is awarded a five (5) minute time credit for EACH donut eaten.
Are you a good enough cyclist and eater to go into negative time? What is your strategy?
While the ride is timed, it is not a race. All traffic rules must be followed during the event. Roads will not be closed to traffic.
