Global coverage of the 2019 Vega IRONMAN® World Championships can be viewed through IRONMAN Now on Facebook Watch today October, 12 2019. Beginning in the early morning hours with athlete body marking, the dynamic coverage will take viewers from the male and female professional race all the way through to the event’s final finisher just after midnight. Coverage will span over 20 hours captured by nearly two dozen cameras. Triathlon’s most iconic one-day endurance event also returns to NBC Sports for the 28th year for the audience located in the United States.

Key Moments from the 20 hours of live coverage will include:

- 4:25 a.m. – Live broadcast will begin as athlete’s go through body marking. Eight-time IRONMAN World Champion Paula Newby-Fraser will be joined by IRONMAN World Champion Greg Welch, three-time IRONMAN Champion Michael Lovato and IRONMAN Commentator Paul Kaye.
- 6:25 a.m. – Race Start – Male Professionals / Elite Athletes.
- 6:35 a.m. – Race Start – Female Professionals / Elite Athletes.
- 2:30 p.m. – Estimated time for the male winner to cross the finish arch on the famous Ali`i Drive.
- 3:30 p.m. – Estimated time for the female winner to cross the finish arch on famous Ali`i Drive.
- 11:30 p.m. – Finish Line Party – An inspiring celebration of the Vega IRONMAN World Championship. The 2019 crowned champions will return to the celebratory finish line as supporters to cheer on the final finishers.

The Vega IRONMAN World Championship will be broadcasted in the USA through the various platforms of NBC Sports including the live start of the race on NBCSN on Saturday, October 12 from 12:00-2:00 p.m. ET with live reports airing on NBCSN and NBC throughout race day.
Kailua-Kona, located on the west coast of the Island of Hawai`i, offers the perfect year-round climate and is an ideal location for this iconic, single-day sporting event. The approximately 2,500 athletes will tackle the ROKA 2.4-mile ocean swim in Kailua Bay, followed by the Ventum 112-mile bicycle ride along the Queen Ka’ahumanu Highway from Kailua-Kona to the turnaround in Hawi, and cap their day with a 26.2-mile HOKA ONE ONE run beginning on Ali’i Drive, up Palani Road to the Queen Ka’ahumanu Highway, before making their way to the infamous Natural Energy Laboratory of Hawai`i Authority. Athletes will complete their journey to the roar of tens of thousands of spectators as they cross the historic Ali’i Drive finish line.
