Planning on watching the New York City Marathon? If you are going to NYC this weekend then you really don’t need this article, but if you won’t be in the Big Apple on Sunday, don’t worry—there are more race-coverage options than ever before.
Top Four Ways to Watch the New York City Marathon
On the TV
New York City–area viewers can watch the broadcast, including prerace features, live on ABC7 from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Viewers outside New York City can watch live English coverage on ESPN2 from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. International viewers can watch the broadcast live from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. and can check their local listings here. A national highlights show will air on ABC affiliates from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
On the Computer
In the NYC area, the prerace and race coverage will be available on ABC7NY.com and via the WatchABC app from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m EST. Across the U.S., you can find it on WatchESPN from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on computers, tablets, smartphones and others that have video subscriptions from affiliated providers.
Additional coverage will be streamed live on ESPN3 from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. International viewers can watch the broadcast from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. on ABC7NY.com.
On Your Tablet of Phone
The race will be broadcast live on tablets or smartphones in NYC through WatchABC and WatchESPN nationwide. The app is available in the App store or Google Play store. You can also sign up to track runners by text message or social media here.
